NEW PARTNERSHIP AIMS TO BUILD NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP CAPACITY

American National Bank and MindSet partner to build leadership capacity in Omaha nonprofits through scholarship opportunities and free workshops.

Omaha, NE (May 9, 2019) – MindSet is a well-known leadership development brand in Omaha.  MindSet founder, Dr. Kim Hoogeveen, created it after the company (QLI) he founded and led as CEO for over 20 years received acclaim as the 5-time #1 Best Place to Work in Omaha.

MindSet has been selected as the leadership development partner of the Greater Omaha Chamber and Human Resource Association of the Midlands (HRAM).  For years, both organizations have promoted the flagship MindSet Leadership Series to their members.  And new in 2019, MindSet has partnered with the Greater Omaha Chamber to launch a program called Propel, which is a leadership accelerator for front-line leaders and rising star employees.

While MindSet was proven in the non-profit sector at QLI, most of its business is done in the for-profit sector.  The reason is simple:  for-profit companies have more financial resources to invest in their people.

So not surprisingly, if you look at who participated in the most recent MindSet Leadership Series (just completed in April) and who is enrolled in Propel (launching this month), you see that of the approximately 50 leaders who received the valuable MindSet leadership training, almost 100% of the individuals work for either a for-profit company or a mega non-profit (university or hospital).  That will not be the case going forward.

“Thanks to the generosity of American National Bank, more nonprofit leaders will soon be able to access MindSet training,” says MindSet Co-Owner, Blake Hoogeveen.  “We are looking forward to the opportunity to help other nonprofits learn from the insights that have led to so much growth and success at QLI over the decades.”

“We take pride in giving back to our community,” said Stephanie Gould, SVP of Talent and Organizational Development at American National Bank.  “So, we are pleased to support this scholarship opportunity that will help nonprofit leaders complete MindSet training at roughly half price. We believe this will help to build greater leadership capacity within nonprofits in our community.  We have partnered with MindSet as a strategic partner in leadership development for the last few years, so we know this will be impactful.”

For leaders who may want a chance to sample MindSet, complimentary MindSet workshops will soon be offered in Omaha on the weekend.

LaShonna Dorsey, an adjunct MindSet instructor and a well-known community builder and volunteer, is looking forward to leading the workshops.  “I completed the MindSet Leadership Series in the fall of 2018, and I’ve known MindSet co-owner Blake Hoogeveen for years.  Blake actually encouraged me to attend the Series, and I left that training knowing that I am behind MindSet’s approach to leadership training.  For anyone looking for proven insights, techniques, and tools to develop themselves as leader or to improve employee engagement in their organization, look to MindSet.  It is a resource I’m proud to recommend and be able to share through my role as an adjunct instructor.”

The complimentary workshops will be held from 9am-11am on Saturdays, with the first session being held on June 15 at the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands office near I-680 and Center.  For more information about the workshops or to RSVP to reserve a seat, please contact MindSet at [email protected].
