Laura Burford, FVP, Director of Mortgage, Named Nebraska's First Woman to Be Designated As a Certified Mortgage Banker

Ms. Burford joins 14 other Nebraska-based Certified Mortgage Bankers as the first and only woman from the state to receive the designation, which includes membership to the Society of Certified Mortgage Bankers. Since its inception in 1973, 1,315 people have been awarded membership to the society.


Laura Burford has been awarded the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation, an industry standard of professional success. Ms. Burford joins 14 other Nebraska-based CMB members as the first woman from the state to receive the designation, which includes membership to the Society of Certified Mortgage Bankers.

Since its inception in 1973, 1,315 people have been awarded into the society. The designation symbolizes respect, credibility, ethics, and achievement within real estate finance. Earning a CMB places members within the top of a dynamic industry and part of an elite group of professionals to have achieved the highest level of success.

Currently Ms. Burford is the First Vice President and Director of Mortgage for American National Bank, and has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. She serves on the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation Board, the Nebraska Mortgage Association Board, and is a Teammate mentor. In 2016, Laura graduated from the Nebraska Bankers Leadership Program.
